Galamsey: Scars on the Land

A documentary on how illegal mining is poisoning the rivers and farmland Ghana's farmers depend on.

Overview

Galamsey: Scars on the Land follows farmers whose fields and water sources have been swallowed by illegal small-scale mining. Shot across affected farming communities, the film traces what happens when the land that feeds families is dug up and the rivers run brown, and asks what it will take to reverse the damage.
